Crawford County authorizes payments across funds; budget report shows revenue down 2.4%

On a motion by Commissioner Kraycs with a second from Commissioner Moore, the Crawford County Board authorized payment of open invoices and payroll across multiple funds, including the General Fund, Indigent Defense Fund, Central Dispatch, Road Patrol and others. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with all commissioners recorded as voting aye.
The Budget Performance Report for the period ending May 31, 2026, distributed to the board, showed revenue down 2.4% compared with the prior year. The controller reported jail revenue is up approximately $35,000 and Emergency Management is up about $39,000 (noting a FEMA payment included in this year’s budget). The report also noted forfeiture revenue down 32% and interest income down 23%; expenses were generally flat but maintenance and heating/plumbing repairs showed increases.
