Treasurer Kate Wagner told the board the county’s allocated tax levy will be certified at 5.8521 mills with collection effective July 1, 2026, and presented a Resolution Imposing the 2026 Summer Property Tax Levy pursuant to Public Act 357 of 2004. Wagner said the county had 26 foreclosed parcels, including three residences, and that the property list has been posted to the county website and the auctioneer’s site; an online auction is scheduled for Aug. 19.
The board adopted the resolution imposing the 2026 Summer Property Tax Levy and subsequently adopted the summer L-4029 tax rate request by roll call vote. Wagner also said the Treasurers Association is pursuing a budget appropriation from a state senator to help offset tax-foreclosure costs.
