Commissioners accept audit; report shows revenue down 3.5% and shifting court costs

The Crawford County Board of Commissioners at its May 14 meeting accepted the audit summary presented by Ian Rees of Gabridge & Company and reviewed the Budget Performance Report for the period ending April 30, 2026. The report showed revenue down 3.5% compared with last year, district court costs up 28% and electrical costs up 27% while overall expenses remained largely flat.
Auditor Ian Rees reviewed the audit opinion, general fund balance, statement of net position and pension liability during a PowerPoint presentation. The board also authorized routine payroll and prepaid claims across multiple funds, including a General Fund total of $600,054.88 and a gross payroll entry of $371,316.71. The motions to accept the audit summary and authorize payments passed by roll call.
