City staff reports progress on docks, ADA ramps, chip sealing and water-main work

City administrator provided a multi-part staff report covering current public-works projects. On docks, staff said Oregon Marine Construction will float and anchor new docks once anchors and offloading are scheduled and staff is preparing a landing estimate. "The docks, they have about 2.5 weeks left of their construction," staff said, and confirmed work to set anchors and prepare landings was in progress.
On ADA ramps, staff said Brown Contracting won the project for multiple towns and may not arrive locally until later this winter or spring depending on schedule. Regarding chip sealing, staff explained that chip seal is a lower-cost, temporary surfacing (about one-quarter the cost of asphalt) and that identified depressions will be cold-patched because cold patch adheres to chip seal. For the North–South Louisiana water-main work, staff described trenching complications caused by soil liquefaction and said engineers are reworking casing and boring estimates. Staff said final boring estimates were due Thursday and that the city expects financing to cover any necessary increases. They also described plans to grind three inches of roadway material for reuse in the project to offset costs.
