The motion to approve the $5,000 donation was made by Commissioner Morgan Trinkle and seconded by Commissioner Rick Shriver; the motion passed 3-0. The commission did not tie the expenditure to a specific line-item beyond the motion to fund the event and approved the payment during the Jan. 12 meeting.
