They're now requesting an additional extension from 04/26 to 03/31/27, and the rental rate will remain the same,” staff said.
A public commenter asked whether a fair‑market appraisal, RFP process, environmental liabilities or zoning approvals were required for a lease longer than 12 months; the council discussed what is being stored at the site (poles, trucks and some gravel) and a council member moved to approve the extension. The motion passed by voice vote; the lease extension runs from 04/01/2026 to 03/31/2027 at $1,200 per month.
