The Claymont City Board of Education elected Solomon Peters as president and Martha Campbell as vice‑president during its organizational meeting on Jan. 12, 2026. The meeting opened at 6:00 p.m. at the district Administrative Office; Treasurer Kim Beckley administered the oaths of office to newly elected members earlier in the meeting and later administered the officer oaths.
Solomon Peters was elected president after Mrs. Host nominated him; the roll‑call vote was Host yes, Campbell yes, Grandison yes, Peters abstain, Wolf yes, carrying the motion. Martha Campbell was elected vice‑president after being nominated by Mr. Peters; the subsequent roll‑call vote was unanimous in favor (Grandison yes, Wolf yes, Campbell yes, Host yes, Peters yes). The board recessed its officer business and continued with the approved organizational agenda. The meeting adjourned at 6:09 p.m.
