Shelley, representing Lake Region District Health (speaker 9), asked the board to contract for an extra four hours per week during busy seasons to allow timely data entry and completion of health‑unit duties. She told commissioners that frequent assistant turnover had made it difficult to keep up with immunization and screening records and that the contracted hours would ensure timely EHR entry and reporting.
Commissioners discussed contracting mechanics and compensation (the county would contract with the health district and pay the provider’s current hourly wages). A motion to authorize a contract for the additional hours was moved, seconded and carried. The board instructed staff to prepare an agreement consistent with the health district’s current hourly rate and to return any contract language for final approval.
