Commissioners approved moving the county's public budget hearing from Sept. 16 to Oct. 7 to synchronize joint meetings with partner entities. The chair said the change would allow the county to coordinate multiple related hearings at once and the motion carried by voice vote.
On finance matters, the commission approved a $150,000 transfer from the county tax fund to road/bridge projects (motion by Griffin, second by Horner). Commissioners also discussed a contractor request for the second half of a county garage payment; after reviewing punch‑list items they approved a partial payment of $7,000 toward a $17,000 draw request and left the remainder pending completion.
Finally, the commission reviewed and approved routine bills and instructed staff on vendor follow‑up. Staff also noted the upcoming payroll deadline tied to sick‑leave payout calculations and will include the approved payouts in the next payroll run.
