Board approves Grow Jackson mural at armory to support new food-hub identity

The parks representative said Grow Jackson is proposing the mural to display the organization’s food-hub logo and noted the group's market opened May 2 and has had strong turnout. "They're proposing this on the north side of the building... their logo for their food hub that will open in July or August," the parks presenter said. The motion to support the art proposal passed unanimously after being moved and seconded.
Context: The mural stems from an existing county policy that routes public-art proposals through the park board and then to the county board; staff indicated the mural came via that process. The mural aims to increase visibility for Grow Jackson’s food hub and complement the farmers market already operating at the armory.
