Commissioner McMurtry presented a county proclamation declaring July 2026 as Pretrial, Probation and Parole Supervision Week, recognizing the Ramsey County Community Corrections Department and noting it employs "more than 450 community corrections professionals." The proclamation described the department’s responsibilities spanning community supervision, juvenile detention and the Ramsey County Correctional Facility.
Deputy Director Liz Reetz told the board the past year required staff to "navigate an extraordinarily complex and rapidly changing environment," including operational responses that tested staff safety and continuity. Reetz said probation officers “assess risk, identify individual needs, and tailor interventions to help reduce recidivism,” and thanked staff for maintaining services in difficult circumstances. Commissioner Moran and others publicly thanked corrections staff and affirmed the county’s commitment to community-based corrections and resources.
The board invited community corrections staff to the dais for a photo and short introductions. Staff present included supervisors and program leads from juvenile probation, adult intake, electronic home monitoring, the juvenile detention center and the Ramsey County Correctional Facility. The board did not take a separate binding vote on services during the proclamation; the proclamation was adopted as presented.
