Commissioner Kraycs reported that the federal government allocated $12 million and the State of Michigan allocated $5 million in 2022 for a veterans cemetery in Crawford County, but that there has been little movement on the project since those allocations. The board voted to sign a letter to Governor Gretchen Whitmer requesting an update and to send copies to Senator Michelle Hoitenga and Representative Ken Borton.
The motion directs the clerk to send the letter to state officials and expresses the county’s interest in seeing progress on the cemetery project. No further county appropriation or action was recorded at the meeting.
