Kyle delivered the fair’s semiannual report, reviewing fundraising events, sponsorships and a slate of grandstand and ground activities for August 9–15, 2026. He highlighted partnerships such as the Jackson Symphony for candlelight concerts and noted plans for monster trucks, a drone show for the America 250 celebration and the return of tractor pulls and demolition derby events.
Kyle said the fair applied for MDARD capital improvement grants (track/restroom upgrades) and another drainage grant, with results expected in the coming weeks. He also reported that last year’s fair had 3,625 entries and about 836 exhibitors and reminded the committee that the premium book and entry deadlines are approaching (entries deadline June 26). Commissioner Margie asked about promotional flyers and distribution; Kyle said brochures and event-center schedules are expected near the end of June.
