April Davis, representing the McPherson County Fair Association, asked the board for the usual county allocation for the fair and outlined steps the association is taking to improve financial documentation. She said concessions processing will change so receipts are collected up front rather than netting receipts against inventory, and she committed to providing a balance sheet and additional documentation on outstanding loans such as the Bradbury Building obligation.
Davis and a colleague thanked volunteers and described the fair schedule (July 16–18), including a demo derby Saturday and rodeo events Thursday and Friday evenings. Commissioners praised volunteer efforts and asked for a balance sheet; one commissioner noted the county’s prior early payment for bleacher costs (about $5,005) and requested continued transparency on grant opportunities and revenue sources. The association said it seeks to become more self‑sustaining through facility rentals and new concession bookkeeping practices.
