Polk County commissioners approved a reimbursement agreement on July 21 with Central Florida Healthcare — a federally qualified health center — to reimburse up to $1,512,116.53 for medical, dental and diagnostic equipment at a Lakeland facility. County staff said the agreement was recommended following review and approval by the Citizens Health Care Oversight Committee and that the funding will come from the county’s Inogen Health Care Fund.
"This contract will become effective on 07/27/2026 and terminate on 07/26/2027," County Manager Bill Beasley said in presenting the request. Staff listed typical equipment to be reimbursed, including autoclaves, dental items, exam tables and electrocardiogram equipment. The board approved the reimbursement agreement by voice vote. Central Florida Healthcare is contracted with Polk County to provide services to low‑income residents, the item summary noted.
