Merced County paramedic academies report steady enrollments and strong registry pass rate

Steve Melander, paramedic educator, told the Emergency Medical Care Committee that Program 1 began with 29 students and produced 24 graduates; Program 2 began with 27 and currently has 23 students in clinical field internships; Program 3 began in January 2025 with 30 and has 27 remaining due to workload considerations.
Melander reported a National Registry pass rate of 21 out of 22 candidates and said EMT training will be offered five times per year, including a Los Banos location.
