Commission authorizes architects for sheriff storage and juvenile detention design

Separately, commissioners voted to authorize Commissioner Stevens to engage architects to design a juvenile detention facility. Commissioners discussed site, utility and sewage needs and said the architect's specifications should include details on power, drainage and restroom facilities.
Chair asked staff to coordinate architects' scope with the sheriff's operational needs and to return cost estimates to ensure the designs fit the county budget before construction bidding.
