The Wallsburg Town Council voted to approve the consent calendar and accept the January budget and check register during its Feb. 5 meeting. Chair (S1) moved the consent items and, after debate about a park streetlight, the council approved the budget by voice vote.
Council members raised a question about a single bright streetlight in the town-park parking area, asking whether it was “night-sky compatible” or simply a newer, brighter bulb. The chair said the light “might have a new bulb” and asked staff to follow up. The chair then called for the vote; S2 said, “I 2nd it,” and the motion passed with all members saying “aye.”
The action covered approval of the agenda and earlier meeting minutes as part of the consent calendar and the formal acceptance of the January financial report and check register. No separate roll-call tally of yes/no/abstain was recorded in the transcript; the clerk recorded the motion as approved.
