Manuel Maldonado said he had seen "so much corruption within the district" over decades and said the community had "dearly suffered because of the corruption and the mishandling of public funds."
Other commenters asked for stronger transparency around closed sessions and suggested recording retention for review with independent counsel; Brian Roberts recommended defined retention periods to allow review of closed‑session recordings if necessary. Carmen Basso criticized board behavior at prior meetings and asked why schools were closing, saying students should not have to travel farther. Andrea Gordon and other commenters supported consolidating district elections with county elections to improve impartiality and accuracy, while noting potential added costs to the district.
