BPW authorizes Jacobs to pursue state PFAS investigation grant with $15,000 estimated budget

The Grand Traverse County Board of Public Works voted to authorize Jacobs to complete a State of Michigan PFAS Investigation Funding Grant application and directed the chair to sign the application with an estimated Jacobs budget of $15,000 and a 10% variance. Board member Beth Friend made the motion; Andy Smits seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Mark Huggard of Jacobs was present to discuss the scope of the contractor's proposed grant work. The Board noted the application deadline of Feb. 21, 2025 and that the state's selection process is expected to conclude by March 31, 2025. No final award decision was made at the meeting; the motion authorizes Jacobs to prepare and submit the application on the Board's behalf.
