The business owner presented a packet describing decades of family business history and renovation work already completed. He told the board he spent $173,688 so far (excluding capital equipment) and paid $450,000 to purchase the building, putting the owner’s current total at $623,688 to buy and repair the property to date.
The applicant detailed contractor bids for outstanding work: a $60,000 roof replacement (warehouse portion), gutter replacement ($1,745), siding and front repairs bids ranging from about $73,000 to $130,000, and a separate $45,248 bid to replace a flat showroom roof. When asked whether $100,000 would complete the listed projects, he said yes and predicted work could be finished by fall if funded. The board approved the grant with the usual reimbursement conditions and a 12-month completion expectation. "Business is booming," the applicant said in describing his relocation to Warrenton and need to keep the building in family operation.
