The clerk provided task force members with Ordinance 277, the county's current Ordinance 11 and a draft Ordinance 11A for the group's review. Members were asked to familiarize themselves with the materials ahead of future meetings; Vern Tuss said he would supply documents outlining the county's development areas to clarify how rules should differ between town and outskirts.
Commissioner Ed Beaudette urged caution, noting the County Attorney researched comparable county ordinances that had withstood litigation and recommended not straying far from proven language. Members discussed differences in property proximity in the West Valley and held that property size, maintenance and neighbor impacts should be considered as the draft is revised. The task force confirmed the County Attorney is available for consultation and the clerk will work to have her present for some meetings.
