County approves donations to veterans groups and raises burial allowance

The Crawford County Board voted to support veterans programs with three actions on May 28. On a motion by Commissioner Lewis (second by Moeller) the board approved a $5,000 donation to Wreaths Across America. The board also approved a $2,500 donation to Veteran's Honor Flights (motion by Frederick, second by Goscicki). Both motions passed on unanimous roll-call votes.
In a separate motion the board increased the county burial allowance for veterans from $500 to $1,000 while maintaining a $500 payment to a spouse; that motion (moved by Goscicki, seconded by Frederick) also passed unanimously. Commissioners recorded their votes by roll call for each action.
