Superintendent: High-school roof nearly finished; stadium lights and other projects on schedule

Mr. Hanlon, the superintendent, gave the board a facilities progress report that covered roofing, gym-floor work, stadium lighting and a delayed gas-hookup. “The high school roof replacement project is approximately 90% completed,” he said, adding that crews are finishing the last sections of the B wing and that metal for final flashings will be ordered with an anticipated two- to three-week lead time.

Hanlon said the Tulsa Trail roofing project has progressed through removal of wet insulation and is moving toward a weather-tight stage. He laid out a short schedule for the high-school gym floor — “about six or seven days worth of sanding … followed by three to four days of painting, and five to six days of polyurethane work” — and said the metal-halide stadium lights dating to the 1990s will be replaced before the first home football game on Aug. 27. He also said the middle-school natural-gas hookup was delayed until next summer to allow the district to bid the work together with a nearby municipal gas-phase project, aiming to reduce mobilization costs.

The superintendent characterized the overall program as on schedule and thanked maintenance and contracting teams for progress. Next steps he identified include ordering metal flashings for the roof, completing gym refinishing in late summer, and issuing a public bid for the combined gas-hookup and related work in the late September–early October window.
