A Butler Tech official briefed the Monroe Local board on school‑year preparations and capital plans, saying hiring is “almost 100 complete” and administrators recently held a retreat to prepare for the term.
The presenter said the district received additional state funding for a second phase of the aviation hangar project and described Phase 2 as roughly double the current hangar size and expected to host adult‑education and related programs. “Phase 2 is going to be about double size of the hangar,” the presenter said.
The Butler Tech representative also announced a golf fundraiser Aug. 8 at Potter Hill in Hamilton to support the driver’s ed program; the rep said the booster proceeds will fund student licenses and that a foursome costs $500.
Board members thanked the presenter and noted community interest in the hangar and career‑technical opportunities. No formal board action on the hangar funding was taken at the meeting; the update was informational.
