Todd described a plan to reinstall and upgrade the playground removed during aquatic-center construction, including new curbing, rubberized surfacing and a play structure suitable for ages 2–12. He said the city is coordinating the work with the pool project and plans to capitalize on Northwest Playgrounds’ mobilization to reduce costs.
Council discussed ADA-accessible features and funding sources. One council member noted park mitigation funds of about $80,000 could be used and other sources, such as REET or parks cash, might cover any remaining gap. Council voted to approve Resolution F367 to proceed with the playground project.
