The Cheney Rodeo applied for lodging-tax assistance for its July event. The review committee recommended reimbursing the rodeo for insurance costs, not to exceed $7,500, with payment made after the organization submits receipts and a participation report.
"They recommended paying the insurance not to exceed $7,500," a committee representative told the council. A motion to approve Resolution F361 to provide that lodging-tax assistance was moved, seconded and adopted by the council on a voice vote.
Council members commented in support of the rodeo as a longtime community event; no additional conditions were placed beyond the standard receipt and reporting requirement.
