The superintendent said OFCC would co‑fund demolition of the primary building when it comes offline in two years but cautioned the board against spending more district dollars on maintaining a building they intend to take out of service.
Board members asked to schedule a facilities meeting to review options for repurposing or disposing of the existing primary building and to confirm OFCC steps and timelines. The superintendent proposed August 11–12 as tentative dates to convene a facilities discussion with staff.
Separately, the superintendent alerted the board to a scheduling conflict: Butler Tech moved its graduation to the same night as the district’s graduation (8 p.m.), and staff are trying to avoid forcing students to choose between events. The superintendent said administrators are exploring alternatives with Butler Tech and other venues.
The board did not change construction plans at the meeting; members praised the visible progress and asked staff to return with options and timing for both demolition and reuse scenarios.
