Council previews votes and committee work: junk fees, homeowner protections, City Light measures and midyear supplemental

Council members used their reports to preview a number of upcoming committee actions and deadlines. Council Member Foster reminded colleagues that "today is the day that any amendments are due if you have amendments for the junk fees legislation," and said her homeowner protections bill (a 'do not solicit' list for homeowners) passed out of committee last week and will be scheduled for full council the following week.
Council Member Juarez previewed an Aug. 5 Parks and City Light committee meeting that will consider a City Light ordinance to update the voluntary green power solar program, a City Light ordinance to execute a first amendment to a FERC boundary hydroelectric relicensing agreement, and a resolution authorizing a 2026 State Recreation and Conservation Office grant application. Council President Hollingsworth also announced a July 29 special Governance and Utilities meeting to vote on Seattle Public Utilities and City Light emergency assistance bills and possibly the SPU 2027–2029 rate path.
