The board voted to approve the improved service-level narrative that the director must submit as part of the municipality’s 2027 budget review. The narrative preserves a four-tier service-level framework (levels 1–4) and requests funding to cover the library’s rising e‑resource costs, which the director said had been increasing about 20% year over year.
"So the number 4 will be the total cost of all those hours plus the additional $22,000 for e resources," the director said, explaining that level 4 reflects full staffing hours and coverage of e‑resource cost increases. After board discussion and a motion with a second, the board approved sending the narrative to the municipal manager so the request can be included in the manager’s recommended budget and presented at the upcoming municipal budget hearing.
