Superintendent highlights CCA partnership enabling middle-school college credit

Superintendent Nick Cruz updated trustees on a partnership that allows Franklin-McKinley middle-school students at CCA to take college-level classes. Cruz said the district visited CCA twice in a week—at a back-to-school night and a parent meeting—and that some students have already started an Evergreen College class.
He thanked principal Alcantar, Dr. Trujillo and Chancellor Chaitis and the Evergreen Valley College staff for coordinating the effort and said the district hopes to expand the partnership to give more middle-school students the same opportunity. Cruz described the partnership as part of broader efforts to provide middle-school pathways to college credit.
