A committee member told the Mount Lebanon Library Board that the library’s recent participation in the Pittsburgh Book Crawl and a neighborhood garage sale produced heavy foot traffic and fundraising proceeds.
"On Saturday, we brought in $2,396.50," the committee member said, adding that Sunday produced further revenue. Board members discussed the benefit of having the library address listed on the community yard-sale map and credited volunteers for staffing and restocking the sale. The board noted the event’s value as community outreach and visibility for the bookstore.
Board members encouraged using the Book Crawl as ongoing promotion for the library; one member said the event’s weekend-long attention demonstrated that many residents were unaware of the library’s offerings until staff and volunteers engaged directly.
