King County transportation tax boost raises Seattle's estimated annual share to about $4.7M, OIR says

In discussing regional funding, Director Nina Hashemi told council members that King County approved a 0.1% transportation sales tax and that Seattle successfully lobbied to remove a proposed cap on city shares. "Without the change, Seattle would have received about 1,900,000 a year, and with it, our annual share rises to about 4,700,000," Hashemi said.
Hashemi credited coordination with the Sound Cities Association and council outreach — letters, calls and public comments — for helping secure the larger share. Council members acknowledged the increase and noted OIR’s role in regional negotiations; no formal action was taken at the briefing itself.
