Fort Bragg High School FFA officers describe hands‑on agricultural learning and upcoming competitions

Tina Hale (vice president) and Kelsey Cooper (president) of the Fort Bragg High School FFA chapter gave trustees a student‑led update on agricultural pathways and SAE (sustained agricultural experience) projects.
Hale described Ag Science work — including incubating chicks and veterinary‑science introductions — while Cooper outlined Ag Mechanics, fabrication competitions, and floral/horticulture activities that include community contributions (a floral subscription and greenhouse collaboration with the Noyo Food Forest). Hale said 11 students have signed up to market livestock at the Redwood Empire Fair and the chapter is preparing for numerous speaking competitions and leadership conferences.
Trustees thanked the students and noted their pride after observing student presentations and competitions. The board received the update; no vote was required.
