Trustees and staff discussed a longer-range facilities strategy that could include acquiring land across the road to expand parking for events. Staff suggested clearing and preparing adjacent lots to provide event parking, and said reconfiguring school entryways as part of upcoming construction could improve security and circulation.
"As we get into the spring, that may be something we want to talk about as well... what would it cost to get a chunk of that over there?" a staff member said, adding the district could mow and prepare land for parking and later add sidewalks where footpaths emerge. Trustees noted parking and access challenges for large events and asked staff to include potential acquisition or phased improvements in the long‑range plan.
