County adopts election pay, polling places, depositories and planning fees

At the Jan. 13 meeting the Lawrence County Commission passed multiple resolutions governing administrative fees and election logistics for 2026. Resolution #2026-01 sets election official pay at $225 for superintendents and $200 for judges, with an additional $20 for attendance at election schools; mileage will be paid at the state rate and extra help on election night or for post-election audits will be paid $17.50 per hour. Resolution #2026-02 establishes polling places and precinct locations across Lawrence County for the year.
On the treasurer's recommendation the board adopted Resolution #2026-03 designating several regional banks (Wells Fargo, First Interstate Bank, First National Bank, Pioneer Bank, Black Hills Community Bank, BankWest, Legends West Bank) as official depositories for county funds in 2026. The commission also approved Resolution #2026-04 setting the Planning & Zoning Department fee schedule (examples in the resolution: Change of Zoning $420 nonrefundable; Conditional Use Permit $420; building permit base formulas and listed per-structure fees).
These administrative resolutions were adopted by motion and recorded in the meeting minutes; the auditor attested to the resolutions for the official record.
