The Lancaster County commissioners approved renewing a fiber services contract with Uniti Solutions (formerly Windstream) to provide point‑to‑point fiber connections for tower sites in Manheim, Brownstown and Ephrata.
The contract terms call for $3,896.00 per month from Jan. 7, 2026 through Jan. 7, 2030, and the meeting record lists Act 17 grant funding as the source. The motion to approve the renewal was moved by Commissioner Parsons and seconded by Commissioner Yoder and "passed unanimously."
County staff said the renewal will maintain connectivity among critical tower sites that support county communications. The Board did not record further debate in the minutes.
