Dakota County unveils upgraded boardroom AV system with captions and high-resolution cameras

County IT staff demonstrated an upgraded audiovisual control room and new high-resolution cameras intended to improve livestream quality and in-room functionality. "We did upgrade the cameras as well with new high resolution cameras," IT desktop supervisor Sean Mullas told the board as he described a modernized system built to support Teams meetings and future public broadcast opportunities. Commissioners asked whether captioning would be instantaneous on the livestream and were told the live broadcast can lag by a couple of moments for recording purposes.
Commissioners and staff publicly thanked the project team for completing the work on time. The boardroom upgrades include continued captioning on the livestream; staff invited commissioners to walk through the AV control room and provide feedback on the installation. Project staff named for their roles included Hans Zakram (project lead), Seema Eppi, David Milan, Sean Wassman, Mariah Holstrom, Devin Drufic, Michelle Nielsen, Jenny Reynolds, Kaylee, Nick Peterson, and Christina Lundgren.
