Local organizers, commissioners announce Spindletop 125th anniversary schedule

Organizers said the program will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Spindletop Park (on the east side of West Port Arthur Road, roughly a mile south of Cardinal Drive) with a short program, speeches and reenactors, and that they will then proceed to Gladys City for a replica-gusher event. The judge and commissioners thanked organizers and volunteers; one commissioner singled out work on exhibit panels and outreach, and organizers invited the public to attend.
Laurie, an onstage organizer, told the court: "It's Saturday at 09:30 at Spindletop Park... It'll be a short program, starting at 09:30 with, a little speech making and some cookies and reenactors. And Judy Linsley, who wrote the book, Giant on the Hill, will be our presenter."
