The court approved a request from IT and the county engineer to fund a $14,008.67 fiber connection into the Justice Center.
The county engineer explained the cost covers owner‑provided internal components to connect the building to the countywide fiber and said the county plans to use the same contractor (FSG) that performed the countywide fiber job. "This is something that's always been part of the owner provides," the engineer said, describing the internal connection work as distinct from the original fiber project contract. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the expenditure.
The acting judge asked the county engineer to provide an update to the court on other connections so the commissioners could understand whether similar costs will appear for additional buildings.
