County approves FEMA-funded sheriff training travel to Alabama

Jefferson County commissioners on Jan. 20 approved out-of-state travel requests for Luther Bracken and Eric Bowman to attend training at the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Alabama from March 8–14, 2026.
The County Judge stated there will be no county cost for the training or travel because FEMA will fully cover all expenses. The motion to approve travel was moved and seconded and approved by voice vote.
