Jasmine Sanchez of the Lubbock County tax office reported April collections of $233,192.43 in hotel/venue tax and $95,854.81 in car/short-term rental tax for a monthly total of $329,047.24 and said monthly totals are up about 6% from March. "Hotel, $233,192.43... Car, $95,854.81... Brings a total of $329,047.24," she reported.
Sanchez gave year-to-date totals of $1,381,861.21 for hotel collections and $488,594.15 for car collections, bringing a fiscal-year total of $1,871,608.03 (about an 11% increase from the prior fiscal year). She also reported approximately $24.54 million deposited into the venue bank account through April 30 and provided the April disbursement total of about $7.91 million.
