County to run environmental review for courthouse renovation; 100% plans due in weeks

County staff reported that BRW, the county's architect team, has submitted 90% construction documents for the courthouse renovation and that an environmental review of the existing courthouse is scheduled to look for asbestos and HVAC concerns in the basement.
County Engineer John A. Hernandez said the environmental assessment will identify asbestos and HVAC issues and produce recommendations for the architect team. "They're going to look at asbestos, basically on the Basement Floor and also the HVAC system," Hernandez said. He added that the county expects 100% construction documents within a couple of weeks so Fulton can develop cost estimates and the county can negotiate a guaranteed maximum price.
No action beyond the update was requested during the meeting; commissioners were offered electronic copies of the documents for review and asked to forward comments to county staff.
