The Jefferson County Commissioners Court on Jan. 20 approved several items under the county auditor, among them a $1,380 purchase of a laptop for a county court reporter and a $10,194 allocation to replace jury box chairs for the 60th District Court.
County staff explained the jury-box chairs had been budgeted in the prior year but the order was not placed; when a new quote was obtained the county rebudgeted the expense. As staff said, “They were budgeted last year, but the order never got placed,” and the vendor change and lead times required re-budgeting.
The court also received and filed Amendment No. 6 to the Texas General Land Office contract #20000And65100And21C408 to extend time and revise federal assurances and related certifications, and it accepted a grant award modification for a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program that decreased funding by $13,999.88 to a revised total of $10,552.12 (award G24HNOO29A). The Judge moved the items; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
