County engineers told the San Patricio County Commissioners Court that this month's construction payout of approximately $2,400,000 brings the Justice Center project to about 84% complete and that the county remains on schedule for an early‑summer finish. John A. Hernandez, the county engineer, presented a drone video and a project schedule showing ongoing gypsum board and framing work on the third floor and penthouse.
"This month's payout is approximately $2,400,000 and that'll bring the project completion to about 84% complete," Hernandez said. He described the current critical path as work on the 3rd floor and the penthouse and said Fulton (the construction manager) will continue mechanical, electrical and plumbing wrap‑up work.
Hernandez said the project team expects to receive 100% construction documents at the end of the month, after which the county and Fulton will negotiate a guaranteed maximum price for the construction manager at‑risk contract. The court did not take additional action on the update; commissioners asked clarifying questions about schedule and sequencing but were told the timeline remains unchanged.
