The court authorized the county judge to sign Amendment No. 1 to the NOPE Inc. software license and service agreement to ensure a contingency for poll-book and voter list building if the county cannot produce those materials internally.
An elections official explained that because of recent changes in state voter registration and vendor support, the vendor may charge $1,500 per election to build poll books if the county cannot produce them. The official said the contingency is included "just in case" the county must pay the vendor to build poll books to ensure early voting and election day operations proceed without interruption. The court approved authorizing the county judge to sign the amendment on a motion by Commissioner Shaw, second by Commissioner Dolby, and the motion carried.
The action is procedural authorization to enter or amend a vendor agreement; no additional fiscal appropriation beyond existing authority was documented in the discussion.
