Ellis County Road & Bridge staff recommended installation of a stop sign at the uncontrolled intersection of Dunkerley Road and Cook Road in Precinct 2 after a safety review that cited increased development and traffic stemming from the nearby motorplex. "We looked into it, it's a uncontrolled intersection, and with the increased... development out there... we figured it was gonna be a safety issue, decided to recommend to put it in there," the presenting staff member said.
The court opened a public hearing on the proposal, heard no registered public comments, closed the hearing, and approved the stop sign placement by unanimous vote. Commissioners instructed staff to proceed with the installation and to update appropriate signage and traffic records.
