The Commissioners Court introduced Samuel Adams as Ellis County’s new Agriculture and Natural Resources agent and announced a start date of June 1.
District Extension Administrator Jay Kingston and Texas A&M AgriLife extension agent Sydney Ashley introduced Adams to the court, noting his background: a Bachelor of Science in agricultural education from Texas A&M-Commerce, prior experience in ag-science education, and military service. Kingston said Adams brings relevant experience to replace the previous agent and the county’s extension office will be fully staffed beginning in June.
Judge Ray welcomed Adams and thanked extension staff for their work on the hire. No formal vote was recorded; the item was an introduction and staffing announcement.
