The board approved two linked actions under the Renew America Schools grant to pursue energy-efficiency updates at Dillard Alternative High School.
The first action authorized project management services "for a total amount not to exceed $26,363.63 and payable to Community Systems Solution," according to the motion offered at the meeting. The board also approved funding for an ASHRAE Level 2 energy audit and associated professional services up to $11,050 payable to RNW Engineers; the audit will assess building systems and recommend specific efficiency investments.
Board members said the cost now is to secure an energy audit and project manager so staff can make more detailed recommendations later. Motions were moved and seconded and approved by voice; the board recorded unanimous "Aye" votes and will await the audit results and project manager recommendations before approving any larger implementation contract.
