The Ellis County Commissioners Court voted on May 12 to appoint Commissioner Randy Stinson as the county’s primary representative to the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) and Commissioner Kyle Butler as alternate, with the appointment effective immediately.
Judge Ray said the previous representative was Lane Grayson and recommended making the appointment effective today rather than waiting until July 2026. After discussion and a motion from Commissioner Louis Ponder, the court approved the nomination with no opposition. Commissioners did not raise conditions or dissent during the appointment discussion.
The action updates the county’s representation on the regional transportation board; Judge Ray said the county will seek an alternate from Ellis County rather than relying on Kaufman County representation going forward.
